A while ago, a customer asked me to make it possible to add some static URL’s in the recently launched Office 365 App Launcher. In one of the blog posts of Jasper Oosterveld I found a way to do this. Unfortunately the Azure App I created did not show up in Office 365 My apps.

In this blogpost I will describe a workaround to get it working.

Go to your Azure AD instance at https://manage.windowsazure.com and open the dashboard of the App that is not showing in Office 365 My apps.

Below, on the right, you see the single sign-on url, copy this by using the icon next to it.

Now we are going to create another App that will redirect to your earlier created App, the workaround.

Go to your Azure AD instance and click Applications

On the bottom of the screen click Add

Click Add an application my organization is developing

Add Azure AD App

Type a name for your App

Next fill in the single sign-on url you just copied as shown below.

Add Azure AD App, Sign-on URL and App ID

Make sure you assign the newly created App before testing.

If you go to the Office 365 App Launcher and click My Apps, the App should appear.

In some cases this workaround will not work directly. To solve this, go to you newly created app, click Configure. After that make a change in the following  URL, for example add an # at the end, and press Save. Finally change the URL back to the original one and you are set.
